Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Releases Race Weekend Timetable

FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

The entertainment schedule for the four days of huge festivities taking place between June 22nd – 25th at Baku City Circuit (BCC) has been released today by the promoters of the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

According to the timetable, ticketholders will be allowed to enter the main entertainment zones on Baku Boulevard from 14:00 on June 22nd and will have an access to these same venues from 10:00 on June 23-24-25. 

The Formula 1 Village and other entertainment zones at the boulevard will operate until the end of each of the nightly live concerts by global superstars Tarkan, The Black Eyed Peas, Nicole Scherzinger and Mariah Carey.

Bulent Ozerdim, BCC’s Head of Commercial, commented earlier on the release of the weekend’s entertainment schedule: “We have prepared a more varied and interesting entertainment programme this year that will create an unforgettable weekend for fans to enjoy under the open skies of beautiful Baku. Spectators will be entertained on and off track throughout the weekend at the various events taking place at the different entertainment zones along the circuit every day during the race weekend. They will also have a chance to get even better acquainted with the Formula 1 world and to take part in numerous entertainment activities with their friends and family.

Meet Formula 1

4-day ticket holders will be able to join a special Pit Lane walk from 19:00 to 20:30 on June 22nd. Here, they will be allowed to watch F1 teams preparing their cars in the garages ahead of the race weekend. Walk, can do so from within the F1 Village, located next to the Absheron Grandstand.

Moreover, autograph sessions with all F1 drivers racing at the 2017 F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held in the Formula 1 Village from 11:00 onwards each day between June 23rd-25th. Formula 1 fans will have an opportunity to meet their favourite drivers face-to-face, take photos with them and get their autographs. As this is a hugely popular activity, spectators are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they meet their favourite drivers. Meanwhile, spectators will get also be able to learn some practical F1 knowledge by trying out their driving skills on the various track simulators in the Game Zones along Baku Boulevard, as well as taking part in the famous F1 pit-stop challenge.

Gems of Azerbaijani culture

The many customs and traditions of Azerbaijan, as well as art samples such as carpet weaving, pottery, drawings and wood-carvings will be demonstrated for all motorsport fans to see at the ‘Culture of Azerbaijan’ corner on Baku Boulevard. Spectators will also have an opportunity to showcase their own artistic skills at special workshops located this zone.

Live Action Shows

Comedians will add some laughs to the race weekend with live shows and performances taking place across the entertainment zones, making people smile all weekend. Additional live performances will also include acrobatic shows, the famous Spandy Andy, walking robots, stilt walkers and pantomime performances, balloon artists, bubble and bike shows and much more.

Entertainment Zone for Junior Ticket Holders

During the race weekend, driving schools will be organized for junior ticket holders. They will learn driving safety rules in a friendly and informative environment. Additionally, educational and interactive games will be available for kids to enjoy and learn from all weekend.

Entertainment Programme Extends to Sahil and Sabir Park Zones.

Baku City Circuit is also offering low cost tickets for Sahil and Sabir Parks. These tickets will provide access to only these parks. The entertainment programme will last from 11:30 to 19:30 on June 23rd, from 11:00 to 19:00 on June 24th and from 11:00 to 14:00 on June 25th in these two zones. It will include performances by Naghara (Azerbaijan’s national drum) musicians, traditional dances from several countries, balloon shows and amazing sets by famous local DJs’.
