Baku City Circuit Media Club organizes its second debate session

FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

Media Club members exchanged ideas on sustainable development of national tourism during the debate.

On November 20, BCC’s Marketing and Communications Department staff, BCC Media Club members and National Tourism Promotion Bureau representatives took part in a debate. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues, such as tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan, ways to use these opportunities effectively, challenges and solutions in the development of the tourism sector.

BCC’s Head of Marketing and Communications Department and National Press Secretary of the 2018 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Nigar Arpadarai, highlighted the importance of Formula 1 races in national tourism and steps towards encouraging business their solutions: “It is worth noting that Azerbaijan Grand Prix plays a crucial role in the development of country’s tourism industry. Baku City Circuit Operations Company always encourages local business entities to take advantage of this opportunity. Although there are still some challenges in this industry, we observe positive tendency in solving problems”.

National Tourism Promotion Bureau’s Public Relations Manager, Kanan Guluzade, talked about the establishment and function of the Bureau and “Strategic Road Map for the development of tourism industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan”: “Azerbaijan's stability and security in the region has a positive impact on national tourism. As a result of recent reforms, there is a rapid increase in the number of tourists coming to the country. It is expected that 4.5 million tourists will visit Azerbaijan by 2020. In the upcoming years, the revenue from tourism will be expected to be equal to the revenue from the oil and gas sector”.

National Tourism Promotion Bureau’s Marketing Manager, Jamila Talibzade, clarified journalists’ questions on which countries are chosen for promoting tourism opportunities in Azerbaijan, steps taken for the establishment of stable cooperation and development of the service sector in the regions of Azerbaijan. During her speech, she also noted that info tours would be organized and professional tour guides would be involved to reveal Azerbaijan's tourism potential.

In collaboration with the National Tourism Promotion Bureau, stands reflecting national culture of Azerbaijan were setup in the standing zone in Sabir Park during the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.  Finally, future collaborations and mutual projects between two companies were discussed in the debate.
