Statement by Baku City Circuit on Road Restrictions Throughout the Race Week

FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC), promoter of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2023, has confirmed some streets within the track will be open to traffic throughout the race week (24-29 April) with limited access.

Neftchilar Avenue from Azneft Square to the Marine Passenger Terminal and Istiglaliyyat Street from Sheikh Shamil Street to Azerbaijan Avenue will remain open to traffic but only at certain times starting Monday, April 24 to Saturday, April 29. On April 24-25-26, these areas will be open to traffic from 07:00am to 09:00am and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with stopping or parking strictly prohibited.  

Subsequently, on April 27, Neftchilar Avenue from Azneft Square to the Marine Passenger Terminal will be open from 07:00am to 09:00am, and 8:00pm to 10:00 p.m. On April 28-29, vehicle access will be from 8:00pm to 10:00 p.m only. 

It is crucial to highlight that the above-mentioned streets can only be used as a transit corridor. Stopping or parking on these streets is prohibited for safety reasons.

In addition, the use of certain vehicles such as trucks and public transport is strictly prohibited. The speed limit on the mentioned roads is set at 50 km/h.

Traffic control on these roads will be regulated by BCC and local relevant authorities.
