THE WINNER OF THE FIRST SPRINT OF THE SEASON IN AZERBAIJAN GP WAS ANNOUNCED!

The winner of the first sprint race of the season held in Baku was Sergio Perez, the Mexican driver of the "Red Bull" team.

Charles Leclerc, the driver of the Ferrari team taking second and Max Verstappen, another driver of the Red Bull taking third place after being angered by first-lap collision with George Russel.

The first laps of the race were remembered by an unexpected accident by Yuki Tsunoda from Alpha Tauri team leading a quick end and elimination from the race in the second round. His car spun a wheel and rolled down the middle of the track, prompting yellow flags early in the session.

According to the updated 2023 driver standings table with the Sprint race points adding up, Red Bull driver and current world champion Max Verstappen is leading with 75 points. His teammate Sergio Perez took second place with 62 points, and the driver of the "Aston Martin" team Fernando Alonso took the third place with 48 points.
