On the eve of and during the event itself, pedestrians will be able to freely move around the competition area using pedestrian overpasses and underground pass ways as well.

Pedestrian overpasses will be installed and will be activated close to the Race-week at the following locations:

1. The intersection of Azerbaijan Avenue and Istiglaliyat Street.

2. The intersection of Khagani and Rashid Behbudov streets.

3. The intersection of Azadlig Avenue and Khagani Street.

4. The intersection of Rashid Behbutov street with Neftchiler avenue.

 

According to the Traffic Management Plan, the roads lying within Baku City Circuit and the areas around the track will be closed for traffic from May 31st at 01:00 till June 8th at 06:00.

 

 

 

2021 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

The territory of the event will be divided into 3 zones where event-related traffic restrictions or changes will be implemented:

Zone 1 - covers the territory of the Old City, "Icherisheher"

Zone 2 - includes the territory of Azadliq Square and adjacent streets.

Zone 3 - covers the territory of the Park of Waterfalls, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic, and adjacent streets.

Please refer to Map # 1 for location details regarding each of the aforementioned 3 Zones.

Vehicle access within these zones will be permitted to anyone granted a special Resident Access Permit (R.A.P) pass. This will take the form of a self-adhesive sticker that will need to be placed on your vehicle. 

The Resident Access Permit will be distributed among those residents living in the locations directly impacted by the Event as well as any individuals who require regular access to these locations for business reasons.

The Resident Access Permit will be distributed among those residents living in locations / zones directly impacted by the Event-related activities and any individuals who require regular access to these locations for business reasons. The issuance of this pass is free of charge.

To get a pass, the applicant has to get in touch with one of the pass distribution offices located near the applicant's residence or business location.

Pass distribution timeframe: May 17, 2021 - June 7, 2021.

Pass Distribution Office Opening Hours: Monday - Friday from 10:00 till 17:00.

The pass is a self-adhesive sticker and upon receipt needs to be stuck on the internal surface of your vehicles' windshield. The below diagram illustrates how this should be done correctly:

Please note that in case of pass loss or damage, it will not be replaced. Therefore, please take care not to lose or damage your pass.

Vehicle owners with a Resident Access Permit will be entitled to enter or exit the areas of the 1st and 2nd zones during the hours from 24:00 until 06:00 only. 

For Zone 3 there are no such restrictions and access will be possible all day.

Zone 1 - Entry and Exit will be arranged from/to the direction of the Azneft roundabout.

Zone 2 - Entry and Exit will be arranged from/to the intersection of Rashid Behbudov and Khagani streets.

Zone 3 - Entry and Exit will be arranged from/to the direction of Lermontov Street - Park of the Waterfalls.

 

The underground parking lot at Winter Park will be available on a free-of-charge basis for Zone 1 Old City "Icherisheher" Resident Access Permit holders only.

Please refer to Map #2 for alternative traffic-related solutions during the Race week.

You can see these alternative routes marked in blue on the map, which have been considered to allow for continuous traffic flow during this period. 

Please be advised that parking on these roads will be strictly be prohibited, although they will stay open for traffic.

Please refer to Map #1 which indicates which streets will be closed and/or restricted during the Race week.

Between 01:00 on 31st May until 06:00 on 8th June, the streets highlighted in red will be entirely closed for traffic.  

Traffic management along all these highlighted streets will be carried out by the relevant State Transport Authorities.

Any changes to bus routes and schedules as a result of the Event will be posted beforehand on the Baku Transport Agency website, while all relevant updates and announcements will also be communicated via local media (radio, online, and television)

Public Transport – Metro

As a result of the ongoing situation related to COVID-19, according to decree by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the functioning of the Baku Metro has been temporarily suspended.

Further changes related to the functioning of the Baku Metro will be announced via local media (radio, online and television).
