FIA President: “Baku City Circuit’s uniqueness is what makes it so special”

FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has highlighted the unique atmosphere and distinctive characteristics of the Baku City Circuit.

“We love coming to Baku. The Baku City Circuit is unique and truly impressive. Here, historic heritage and modern architecture complement each other. The circuit presents drivers with a different and demanding challenge while also providing spectators with exciting racing,” the FIA President said during the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

According to him, motorsport today is no longer limited to competition between drivers on the track. Formula 1 also plays an important role in business, tourism and entertainment.

“Sport today is no longer just about competition between drivers. It is big business, tourism, competition and entertainment. Azerbaijan brings all of these elements together. I congratulate Azerbaijan on maintaining this level and continuing to develop,” Mohammed Ben Sulayem said.

The FIA President also touched upon the future of Azerbaijan’s cooperation with Formula 1, positively assessing the country’s long-term approach in this area.

“I can see that there are plans here for the future. This is important not only for the sport, but for the country as a whole. That is why you have our full support,” Mohammed Ben Sulayem said.
