Traffic resumes on Baku streets following Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Traffic has been restored on the streets that formed part of the Baku City Circuit following the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026.

Immediately after the conclusion of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2026, dismantling works began on the Baku City Circuit infrastructure, including the grandstands in the Azneft Square area.

Traffic restrictions on several sections were lifted from midnight today.

By 12:30, traffic had been fully restored across all sections, with the exception of the stretch of Pushkin Street between its intersections with Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street and Zarifa Aliyeva Street.

During the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, additional measures were introduced to facilitate traffic movement in central Baku. Transit corridors along several key routes remained open during morning and evening hours, allowing motorists to travel through the city centre.

In 2026, further measures were introduced to improve traffic access. In particular, a new transit corridor was opened for the first time from the intersection of Uzeyir Hajibeyli and Pushkin streets towards Bulbul Avenue.
