BCC Academy Celebrated on National Youth Day

FORMULA 1 AZERBAIJAN GRAND PRIX

February 2nd, 2019 marked the annual celebration of National Youth Day of the Azerbaijan Republic which also saw the Baku City Circuit Academy lauded by Azad Rahimov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports for its impressive work in providing high-level training to so many Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix volunteers.

Founded in 2017 - notably on the same day as National Youth Day – the BCC Academy not only prepares the volunteers for the F1 race weekend but also supports their personal and professional progress by organizing and implementing regular training seminars on a variety of useful and related topics. Every year, the academy helps educate about 3,000 volunteers, providing them with new knowledge and skills that they will carry with them into their future professional and personal lives.

An additional and vital part of the BCC Academy’s goals is to see its Volunteers flourish once they enter the professional work environment, making use of the skills they have learned at the various seminars provided by the Academy as well as via the experience gained from working during such a major event as a Formula 1 Grand Prix.

With this specific goal in mind, the BCC Academy hosted the ‘Small Steps to a Great Opportunity’ Career Fair on October 5th 2018, where its Volunteers could discover information on available internship and job opportunities with companies from across the region. As a direct result, more than 900 volunteers managed to find internship or full-time placements with businesses that were presenting at the fair.
