Formula 1 track hosts mass run for the first time Hundreds take part in BCC F1 Weekend Run at Baku City Circuit

A unique sporting event, the BCC F1 Weekend Run, has taken place at the Baku City Circuit as part of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, with around 250 participants completing a full six-kilometre lap of the Formula 1 track.

The event was attended by Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov.

The run started at 22:00, with participants completing a full lap of the circuit along the same route used by Formula 1 cars during the race weekend.

The BCC F1 Weekend Run was organised to promote an active and healthy lifestyle, strengthen team spirit and bring people together ahead of the race weekend. This time, the focus was not on speed or finishing times, but on participation, supporting one another and enjoying sport.

As part of the Grand Prix week programme, the run also offered participants a different way to experience the Baku City Circuit. Instead of watching the track from the grandstands, they had the chance to step onto the circuit themselves and experience the Formula 1 atmosphere from a completely different perspective.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place in Baku from 24 to 26 September.
