With only a few days away from the start of the races, Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC) staff, volunteers, marshals, security officers, and contractors who greatly contribute to the F1 races are now able to come to the center and get their accreditation cards and pick up their race time uniforms. With more than 100 volunteers involved, the Center will function until June 12th of this year.
“Volunteers are an integral part of F1 races. Their work at the Uniform and Accreditation Center marks the beginning of their race operations”, - said Irana Ahmadova, Head of Human Resources and Workforce at Baku City Circuit Operations Company (BCC).
More than 8000 candidates applied for registration to volunteer at the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix early this year. The 2022 race will take place with fans present in grandstands after a two-year break, which in its turn, has led to an increased number of people wishing to become volunteers. Only 1500 of these candidates were given the opportunity to be involved in this exciting F1 event as volunteers. Differently abled candidates also showed great enthusiasm for becoming Formula 1 volunteers and have participated in the selection process.
Baku City Circuit Academy (BCC Academy) has held extensive workshops to boost the volunteers’ skills and knowledge targeting their specific race preparation. This series of workshops will enable BCC volunteers to provide excellent work in different areas such as human resources, workforce, media, fan zone services, city operations, marshal club operations, administrative and airport operations, and other key areas within the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2022.
