The Formula 1 paddock delivered another unforgettable weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix as Andrea Kimi Antonelli continued his remarkable rise with a fourth consecutive race victory in Montreal, strengthening his lead in the Drivers’ Championship after a dramatic and unpredictable race at the legendary Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The race initially promised a fascinating battle within the Mercedes camp. Starting from pole position, George Russell looked in control during the opening phase and engaged in an intense wheel-to-wheel contest with teammate Antonelli. However, the race took a major turn when Russell suffered a power unit failure on lap 30, ending his challenge and opening the door for Antonelli to seize control.
Antonelli remained composed under pressure and expertly managed the remainder of the race to secure another crucial victory. Behind him, Lewis Hamilton produced one of his strongest performances since joining Ferrari, claiming second place, while Max Verstappen completed the podium in third after a hard-fought afternoon.
The changing weather conditions and strategic uncertainty created additional drama throughout the race. Teams faced difficult tyre decisions, with some early gambles proving costly. McLaren endured a difficult day as strategy complications and reliability issues prevented both drivers from scoring points.
With four victories in succession and Mercedes continuing its impressive momentum, Antonelli leaves Montreal with increasing confidence and a growing championship advantage. As the Formula 1 season progresses, attention now turns to the next round, where rivals will attempt to halt the young Italian’s extraordinary run of form.
